The New Guinea Islands Regional Development Forum was held at the Gazelle International Hotel from the 10-11th of May 2018. The objectives of the forum were:

  • Inform provinces and districts of the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP III) 2018-2022;
  • Dialogue with provinces and districts on medium-term development potentials & priorities; and
  • Ensure alignment of sub-national development planning to MTDP III, 2018-2022.

The New Guinea Islands is made up of 5 Provinces: West New Britain, East New Britain, Manus and New Ireland Provinces, and the biggest is the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
