Natural Resources Sectoral Committee

Committee membership comprises of key stakeholders within the natural resources sector, the public, private and civil society sectors. Public sector includes the core state agencies in the forestry, environment, climate change, lands and fisheries sub-sectors. The Private sector are major industry players doing business in the country. The Civil society sector are NGO’s and faith based organisations dealing with natural resources and the environment and are either local or international Non-Government Organisations operating in the country. Development partners such as JICA and DFAT have been invited to participate.

Government membership include:

  • Department Of Environment and Conservation;
  • Department Of Lands and Physical Planning;
  • National Fisheries Authority;
  • National Forestry Authority;
  • Office of Climate Change and Development.

Private Sector include:

  • ExxonMobil;
  • New Britain Palm Oil.

Other members are from NGOs and Civil Society, churches, land groups and development partners.
